This course is designed to help Transpac racers prepare for the race and provide insight on how to sail smarter and make better decisions during the races. Don't delegate - get involved! Figuring out the Transpac race course requires involvement and “buy-in” from all team members. Although the course topics might be considered to be in the domain of the navigator - this program is designed to improve communication and involvement between the nav station and the entire crew. Afterguard and other team members are encouraged to attend.

  • Race strategy
  • Pre Race Weather study
  • In race weather analysis and optimum routing
  • Satellite data techniques
  • Navigator/afterguard communication
  • Mode sailing
  • How to use Expedition Navigation & Racing software
  • Safety considerations from the nav station

Seminar Details:

  • Registration and check in begins at 1:00 PM
  • The course starts at 1:30 PM and ends at 5PM
  • Bring your own snacks and drinks - the bar may not be open
  • Temporary Expedition license provided to those who dont have one
  • Bring your laptop and your polars, we will have breaks where Peter can provide one-on-one advice and answer your questions.
